Item description
Natural Uranium Ore
CARNOTITE
Weight: 0.8 oz. Radioactivity: 42,500 CPM
(counts-per-minute)
$24.00 plus $9.50 shipping
This rock is physically small, weighing just
0.8 oz, but has a strong radioactivity!
This rock, and many others, were found at
Jurassic Canyon, a national uranium field,
18 miles NW from Grants NM. This rock was
found during October 2025. Carnotite is
a common variety of natural uranium. At
Jurassic Canyon (previously named "Poison
Canyon") more uranium rocks were collected
during the interval 1950-1989, than anywhere
else in the USA. Worldwide, this is the fourth
richest uranium field. Today (2026), two
mining companies have begun their paperwork
to re-open some of the mines. A return to
nuclear power has been endorsed by Presidents
Obama, Biden, and Trump, so the future of
uranium mining now looks bright.
In the photos, the WHITE DOT was painted
with typing correctional fluid. It identifies the
surface location with the highest radioactive
response, measured with a geiger counter.
This small rock has TWO WHITE SPOTS,
which is rare in such a low-weight rock.
