Item description
1936 Vintage Postcard QSL Card W9FO Radio Amateur Call Book
RARE 1 CENT BENJAMIN FRANKLIN GREEN ROTARY STAMP
Vintage QSL Postcard with 1 cent Franklin postage stamp, postmarked Feb 17, 1935 Chicago IL, from "Art and Lil Bates. Oprs.,
Across the bottom is printed: PILOT DC SUPER-WASP
Front of card has pre-printed header information and drawing of the cover of the 1936 Radio Amateur Call Book, with normal QSO information typed in (using an "old fashioned" typewriter"), with the Ham Radio Call sign W(FO in red across the center middle of the card.
A personal message to W3CPA was typed that reads: time u are on, om, don't lose ur license!
The backside (address side) has a one line name and address, also "typed" (It's amazing how the post office was able to deliver mail with minimal information!)
Historically this card is a nice example of the era and the Amateur Radio Operator's History.
CONDITION: Fair condition overall, no pinholes, tears, stains or smudges. There is a slight crease across the middle left of the card, which can be seen by looking at the front of the card. The corners and edges have only very slight wear and discoloration.
1 cent Franklin postage stamp is in fair condition, although the cancel lines do run through the face of the stamp.
