Item description

Grosset and Dunlap. Copyright 1944. Print run 1944. Author was Leslie McFarlane. First version cover art by Paul Laune. Text rewritten in 1970 by Andrew E. Svenson. This is the original McFarlane text. Print run Carpentieri-coded 1944B-2, the second printing. The first printing was a little earlier in 1944. #23 in the series. War-time paper used, see war-time paper notice on the title page picture. This type of paper was fragile and discolors more easily than standard paper. This book does not have any loose or torn pages, though, and the sturdy pages turn well. Very good tan book, a little scuffing at the top/spine but strong hinges without tracking. Orange Gretta endpapers. No writing/markings other than a neat prior ownership sticker on the front free endpaper. Good-to-very-good dust jacket with wear and chipping mostly at top spine. Protected in mylar covering. Front jacket flap lists to self. Rear flap lists twenty Ted Scott titles. Rear lists twenty air combat stories. HB23RJ
