Item description

Vintage 7.5 x 9.75 in. US single-weight glossy copy photograph (not a vintage original photo printed at the time it was taken) from the teens silent film comedy/romance, DOUBLE TROUBLE, released in 1915 by Triangle Distributing and directed by Christy Cabanne. This was only the second film in the motion picture career of the legendary Douglas Fairbanks. The image features an exterior long shot of Eugene Brassfield (Douglas Fairbanks) riding in the back seat of an open vintage automobile during a parade to get the local people to vote for him as a huge throng of people line the streets on either side with a marching band in the background. Printed on single-weight stock with a glossy finish, this vintage copy photograph is in very fine+ condition without any pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws. Provenance: The National Film Archive. Plot: Banker Florian Amidon, a somewhat shy and timid young man, is assaulted, robbed, and knocked-out while on vacation. When he wakes up, he discovers that he's in the booming oil town of Bakerstown, has no memory of how he got there--and that there's a five-year gap in his life from the time he was robbed until that moment. He and his friend, Judge Blodgett (Richard Cummings), enlist the services of a clairvoyant, Madame Leclaire (Olga Grey), to help Florian find out what happened to him. What she discovers changes his life forever.
