She is most remembered for her dramatic landscapes. Fine palatte knife and impasto brushwork and impressionist stippling give her work dimension. She was active in the South Bay art community including the South Bay Art Association in Southern California. Carol reflected the spirit of “plein air” painters. That is, she felt it was important to be directly outdoors on site as she painted or sketched, although he at times later finished her artwork in her home studio. She was fascinated by light on water, mountains, trees, and shadows on surfaces. Her work all reflect a deep affection for nature.
