Francesco Smalto Cologne by Francesco Smalto, Francesco Smalto cologne was the first scent released by the company of the same name in 1987. There’s no mistaking that this is a masculine scent. It has a sharp, slightly licorice opening with bergamot, anise, lavender and neroli, but soon warms with spicier heart notes of carnation, geranium and cyclamen backed by cedar and patchouli. The base notes are what make this produce such a masculine favorite – it’s all about leather, musk and oakmoss. The longevity of this fragrance is impressive, and the sillage is moderate, allowing the scents to evolve slowly and linger for hours. Francesco Smalto fragrance is a lovely blend of herbal aromatics, oakmoss and leather that is dark and sophisticated but never too heavy. Pierre Bourdon created this as a stellar masculine scent that’s classic, strong and a new classic for today’s most confident men.
