This has to be one of the most beautiful plants you can grow. For many, the fruit has a wonderful, spicy fragrance as well. The scent bowls me over, but my wife says she can't smell them at all - quite odd. The fruit is edible - I've generally added the fried eggplant to pasta and have found it sweet and non-bitter.
