The tenderizer worked very well on 1/2-inch london broil and the resulting cutlet is about 1/4-inch thick. Overall, this tenderizer worked as promised and I am happy with it. I do wish someone would make one in this price range that will tenderize a 1-inch piece of meat so the resulting cutlet is at least 1/2-inch or 3/4-inch thick. The biggest issue I found with all of these non-commercial tenderizers is the need to clamp them onto something and having to use towels or clean rags to cushion both sides of the clamp so you don't damage your countertop or the cutting board you're clamping them onto. Since all of our local markets got rid of their tenderizers and since the cube steak in the markets is always full of gristle, a home tenderizer like this one is the only way to make tenderized cutlets from a london broil or a round steak for making the chicken-fried steak my family loves.
