Harvey, the father, endowed with strength of purpose: he always got what he wanted until an accident changed desire and determination to greed, a hunger for money that had no limits. And there's Wood, the handsome eldest son, silent and sensitive, loved by women, but unable to give love; David, smart, superior, a superb athlete, who learns to use his mind as well as his body; Kate, the daughter, exquisitely lovely, intelligent, who fears she will be loved only for her beauty; and Horace, the youngest son, shy, awkward, ungainly, tormented by nightmare demons who give him no peace.
