I bought this power supply because my original was failing and causing my Gateway 840GM computer to shut down and/or refuse to start. I didn't require a higher capacity supply but it's nice to have the extra capacity available. Installation was easy and all connectors fit correctly. The only physical differences between this and the original is the weight and fan location. The original was much heavier but I assume that technology has advanced and components are now lighter. The fan in the original supply faced down into the computer case but this fan blows out the back which would seem to be a plus. This supply works perfectly and my computer works without any issues.
