Cronos: Special Edition (DVD, 2006, Region and similar items

PLEASE READ: You are bidding on the Anamorphic Widescreen (1.85:1) presentation of Cronos: Special Edition (1993, 92 min., Region 2/PAL), in Very Good Condition. I purchased this used before I knew it was Region 2 and my player could not play it. The disc is in VG condition, disc surface has 2 very minor/light scuffs, otherwise it is pristine. The case is in very good condition, has shelf wear but is not bad at all. The case snaps shut cleanly, disc is firmly attached to the holder when shipped. Liner notes are on the inside of the DVD cover, DVD is in a clear plastic case so you can read the liner notes through the case. TAKE NOTE: This is a Region 2/PAL DVD, it will NOT play in US DVD players unless the player is Region-Free, so make sure you know what you have and what you are buying! A Description: The directional debut from Guillermo del Toro, (Hellboy, Blade 2, The Devil's Backbone), Cronos won the Critics' Week Award at the 1993 Cannes Film Festival before going on to win nine Mexican Academy Awards. Combining a surreal and distinctive take on the classic vampire yarn with an allegory about US/Mexican relations, Cronos concerns elderly antique dealer Jesus Gris (Federico Luppi) who, with his eight-year-old granddaughter Aurora (Tamara Shanath), discovers an ancient artifact that once belonged to a 16th-century alchemist. Unbeknownst to Gris, the device - which resembles an ornate mechanical beetle - houses an immortal parasite that will grant eternal life to its host. The cost? An extreme aversion to daylight and an agonising thirst for human blood. Hot on the trail of the device is a dying millionaire (Claudio Brook) and his brutish nephew (Ron Perlman, Hellboy).
