Item description
This is a vintage 1930s Little Orphan Annie bisque doll, originally part of a boxed set by Famous Artists Syndicate, George Borgfeldt Corporation, made in Japan. It appears to be marked on the back but its illegible. The antique china doll was found in a field behind an old home in Virginia more than 40 years ago. The miniature Annie figure was discovered broken in half, with only the top half of the doll, waist up, remaining. (See Photos) Remaining portion measures about 1.5" tall x 1" wide. These dolls were hand-painted, each being slightly different and only traces of the original paint remain on this doll. The antique doll was likely produced as a promotional offering for the Little Orphan Annie radio broadcast. The doll is sold as is.
