Goldsmith, Oliver, THE MISCELLANEOUS WORKS OF OLIVER GOLDSMITH, WITH AN ACCOUNT OF HIS LIFE AND WRITINGS. A NEW EDITION, IN FOUR VOLUMES. EDITED BY WASHINGTON IRVING. Paris: A. and W. Galignani, and Co., 1837. Later reprint of the 1825 edition, full morocco with gilt titling, ex lib, a.e.g., 8vo (6.125 x 9.5"), good / n.a., 4vols. complete, v.1 (cxxviii) 294 pp., v.2 (vi) 445 pp., v.3 (x) 481 pp., v.4(vi) 424 pp. Boards are scuffed, edges and corners worn, joints rubbed, general foxing and spotting throughout, more prominent toward the preliminaries, light water staining to last 15 pages of volume 4. There is a small library stamp as well as a previous owner's signature on the half title page of each volume. The library stamp is that of San Silvestro in Capite Piazza san Silvestro Roma. The signature is that of an unknown apparent Frenchman and lightly bleeds through to the following two pages.
