Item description
In the first volume of the IV series, the "Cantatas and choral works with orchestra and a capella" there is published the score of the Music for the hymn "To Joy" by F. Schiller for soloists, mixed choir and orchestra. The cantata is published for singing with piano, performed in 1897 by Yu. N. Pomerantsev. The publication contains a research section that documents the history of the creation of the work, the responses of contemporaries. The scientific-textual section presents a description of the sources of the text, a commentary to the text. The edition is supplied with illustrations representing fragments of the autograph of the score and other documents on the history of the creation of the cantata. Designed for performers, music students of colleges and universities, researchers of the creative work of P. I. Tchaikovsky.
