Item description
Brand new factory sealed dvd is Out Of Print (OOP) in all formats except pricey blu-ray. Has alternate cover art of Riddick from aliens point of view. Great movie is first in the Chronicles of Riddick series.
A sudden meteor storm forces a manned spaceship to crash land on a nearby planet. The death of the captain along with most of the other passengers leaves unstable Fry (Radha Mitchell) in charge of the remaining crew and cargo, including a fearsome convict, Riddick (Vin Diesel), who possesses immense strength and the ability to see in the dark. The marooned humans, including a vice-laden bounty hunter (Coles Hauser) intent on keeping Riddick under his thumb, investigate their strange terrain, which bears telltale signs of previous human inhabitants.
However, no one seems to have survived in this world where the sun apparently never sets. And, a telltale model of the solar system reveals that an imminent eclipse is due any minute, and when nightfall does indeed come, they are quite far from alone.
Sure, 'Alien' already covered this territory, but the sheer energy and style-to-burn presentation here makes it more vital and fascinating than most of the other imitations we've had to endure over the past twenty years. The newest movie 'Riddick', is more or less a remake of this story.
