Victorian Sterling Silver and Cut Glass Scent Bottle c.1920 5" Tall
Measures 3/4" square and 5" tall.
Antique cut-glass scent bottle (or perfume vial), typically dating back to the Victorian or Edwardian era (late 19th to early 20th century). Long, slender cylindrical shape made of clear glass. It features a detailed diamond or hobnail cut pattern designed to catch and refract light beautifully. A metal collar and hinged flip-top cap, which is historically made from sterling silver and marked 3Z64P. This cap features fine engravings. These narrow, elongated bottles were designed as portable luxury items. Wealthy ladies carried them in reticules (small purses) or attached them to chatelaines (decorative belt hooks). They often contained concentrated perfume oils or smelling salts.
