Antique 1910s Rose O'Neill Bisque Kewpie Doll with Blue Wings and Label
Measures 3" wide, 1 1/2" deep and 5" tall.
This is an antique all-bisque Kewpie doll, originally designed by illustrator Rose O'Neill and manufactured in Germany around 1912?1915. It features the iconic red heart-shaped paper chest label reading "KEWPIE Germany," which identifies it as part of the original pre-World War I production run. The doll displays classic characteristics of O'Neill's design, including a signature topknot of hair, side-glancing eyes, tiny blue wings on the back, and loop-jointed arms. It is crafted from fine bisque porcelain, a matte-finish unglazed ceramic that was widely used for miniature dolls during the early 20th century. Signed on base, Rose Pinkful.
