Thriving in full sun to partial shade, it adapts well to a range of soil pH (5.5 - 8.0) and prefers well-draining soils, from sandy to rocky types, tolerating poor, dry conditions. It reaches 1 foot in height and spreads 3-5 feet within the first five years, eventually maturing to 1-2 feet tall with a 6-8 foot spread. With moderate growth and excellent drought, wind, and salt tolerance, it?s a great choice for coastal gardens, erosion control, and rock gardens. Bar Harbor Juniper requires minimal maintenance and only light pruning in late spring if shaping is desired. It is deer-resistant and has excellent cold hardiness.
