Item description
SQUEEZE PLAY
by James McKimmey
(London: T. Boardman Company, Limited, 1965).
First British and first hardcover edition.
"First published in Great Britain 1965" statement to the copyright page.
Set in Nevada, this well-plotted, tough guy mystery with twists turns and characters, features a man who was framed for his wife's murder, and a secretary set-up to do the dirty work.
#516 in the American Bloodhound Mystery Boardman publication series.
Note: This copy came from the author's estate and most likely was his own reading copy.
Faint foxing to the page fore-edges, a few marginal ink lines, two facing pages with a minor small tan stain to the lower margin, mild crimp to the upper and lower spine ends, else very good plus in nice orange textured boards with titles and publisher's calabash smoking bloodhound insignia embossed in black to the front cover and to the spine; in a near fine dust jacket with eerie and evocative early 1960s style art by D. McLoughlin to the front panel, with a small, light, damp-spot stain to the spine panel that shows a hint of age-toning, and with rubbing and tiny tears to the upper and lower spine edges; original printed 13s. 6d. net price still intact to the front inner flap.
Scarce American Bloodhound Mystery No.472.
