Copyright 1928, original, 212 pgs, written by Leslie McFarlane under the Stratemeyer Syndicate pseudonym Franklin W. Dixon.
Drastically revised/condensed in 1964, to 178 pgs., gutted and rewritten by David Grambs. Only the title and author pseudonym remain the same after 1964, so this Applewood is a great way to have the original art and text.
This is a hard-to-find first edition Applewood book that is part of the "super first ten" books in the series, those original ten being acclaimed as the best-written of the entire series.
Applewood sales were not what was hoped, and these titles are now out of print.
