Item description
THE GREEN ROADS
Poems by Edward Thomas
Chosen and with an Introduction by Eleanor Farjeon
Illustrated with woodcuts by Diana Bloomfield
New York: Holt, Rinehart and Winston, (1965).
First U.S. edition: Holt Library Issue.
Fine and tight in pale green boards; in a very nearly fine dust jacket with mild soiling.
The trade price on the front flap has been clipped by the publisher leaving the library issue price of $3.27.
A selection of poems chosen by Farjeon especially for young readers.
Edward Thomas was killed in action in 1917 and never saw publication of his poems and Eleanor Farjeon herself died before the publication of this book.
"The closest I ever came in friendship to anyone...was Edward Thomas...I never had...such a year of friendship."--Robert Frost.
This is not an ex-library copy.
This copy is bound in Holt's long lasting reinforced cloth binding designed for many years of use.
The copy is tight and appears never read.
