1889 Children's Story Book "Things Will Take and similar items

This listing features a wonderful 1889 Children's Story Book titled; "Things Will Take A Turn" by Beatrice Harraden." This is the story of a sunny hearted child, Rosebud, who assists her grandfather in his dusty, second-hand book-shop. One cannot help being fascinated by the sweet little heroine, she is so engaging, so natural; and to love Rosebud is to love all her friends and enter sympathetically into the good fortune she brought to them. Condition - This book is 132 years old and it's in amazing condition. There are no rips or tears. The binding is attached and tight. The covers corners are a tiny bit frayed and bent in. Born in Hampstead, London on 24 January 1864, Harraden studied in Dresden, at Cheltenham Ladies’ College in Gloucestershire and at Queen’s College and Bedford College in London, and received a BA degree. She travelled extensively in Europe and the United States and in 1893 found fame with her debut novel, Ships That Pass in the Night, a love story set in a tuberculosis sanatorium. This was a best-seller but she failed to achieve similar success with subsequent books which included novels, short stories and books for children.
