Item description
#7 in the series. Author is Margaret Sutton. John Axe Format III.
Grosset and Dunlap. Copyright 1934. Print run 1946.
The white-spine dust jacket front flap lists to The Rainbow Riddle (1946). The rear flap lists to Beverly Gray's Challenge (1945) and the rear of the jacket lists to Cherry Ames Veterans' Nurse (1946). The dust jacket has a "6565" designation at the top front flap and a "110-150" designation at the bottom of the flap. It has some surface abrasion wear on the front, but it is intact with minor edgewear and bumping.
Green boards. Pink staircase endpapers. No frontispiece. Maroon top page block. No writing/markings except for penciled numbers and price at the right top of the front free endpaper. Small store sticker attached to pasted-down rear endpaper. Track between pages 55 and 56. No loose, ripped or missing pages, but they are yellowed, and may be wartime paper. Minor corner bumping.
Overall, an attractive vintage book with cover illustrated by Pelagie Doane.
