Item description
BOY ALMIGHTY
by Feike Feikema (also published as Frederick Manfred)
St. Paul, Minnesota: The Itasca Press, 1945.
First edition, first printing.
Lower spine darkened a bit, else near fine in green linen with orange and deep-blue titles and decorations to the spine, in an about very good dust jacket with large and small pieces missing from the front and rear panels, spine ends, and flap folds.
The front flap retains the original $2.75 upper corner price.
Inscribed, dated (1945), SIGNED by Feike Feikema (who would later Americanize his name to Frederick F. Manfred) to a close personal friend.
The author's second novel is an inspiring tale of the struggle of body and spirit against tuberculosis, "told with hard realism and sensitivity."
"From 1942-1943 he was a patient at Glen Lake Sanatorium in Minnesota.
He met his future wife, Maryanna Shorba, at the sanatorium. He
fictionalized this period in his book, Boy Almighty published under
Feike Feikema."--Fantastic Fiction.
