Shape:  Shift style

My mother bought this casual car coat for me when I started high school in 1962.  (Not a typo!)  I wore it a lot, but it is in very good shape. It was my favorite coat.  Still in style after all these years!

CONDITION:  Excellent condition for a garment that is 58 years old!

* Soft Denim Material – Very comfortable!

*Slight fading at elastic wrists on sleeves.  

*No tears or stains.

*Has two slanted pockets.  One pocket has a small hole in it. 

*Wide zipper with brass ring closure. 

*Sailor style wide collar is in lighter denim fabric.  Under side of sailor collar is dark denim.

*Has a large hem as my mother didn’t want to cut off the excess fabric.  If she hadn’t hemmed it, it would have come down to mid-calf, which was way too long for the 60s.

*I usually wore it with the zipper pulled half way up, although can be pulled up to neckline.

*Unlined.

*Dry cleaning recommended – No ironing needed

*I do not recommend laundering – Might shrink and need excessive ironing.

*Length:  approx. 31-1/2 inches from under collar in back to hem

*Zipper Length:  24 inches long

*Top of sleeve to wrist:  23 inches

*Sailor collar:  Fans to 15-3/4 inches wide
