The Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 (LS-5000 ED) is the workhorse of the commercial 35mm slide/film scanning industry.

Contrary to you may have heard or read, the LS-5000 ED and Nikon Scan 4, v4.0.3 software runs perfectly under all 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Win10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP.  Installation is about as easy as it gets.  ...Guaranteed!   My installation instructions don't provide complicated or confusing work-arounds, ...just know-how.

The LS-5000 ED produces stunning scans with virtually no image quality loss.  Please see the two sample scans.  The foliage negative scan was shot about three years ago on Kodak Ektar 100 film, with a Nikkor AF DC 105mm f/2 lens.  The Tiger Balm Garden (Hong Kong) slide scan was shot in 1967 on Kodachrome 25 film, with a Leitz Summitar 50mm lens.

Thanks for reviewing my listing.  I have been selling and servicing Nikon scanners since 2003, and have overhauled hundreds of these great dedicated film scanners.   I clean and remove 100% of the old sticky Lithium grease lubricant and accumulated dust from each scanner I sell or service.  I apply only modern dry lubricants that will never become sticky and will not collect dust or damage the scanner.  I never use Silicone, Lithium grease or any petroleum based lubricants that actually decompose and damage the Bakelite bearing surfaces of the scanning stage.  I clean the mirrors and the lens.  But servicing these scanners properly is a painstaking process and requires nearly full dis-assembly of the scanner.  There are no short-cuts.  I guarantee long term performance, and I back my work for 12 months.  Please check my feedback.
