When creating jewelry designs, I often turn to fabrics or ethnic/tribal motifs for my inspiration. This motif is based on the pattern on a piece of African fabric, so it was inspired by both. The dark & light pink colors are definitely not traditional for African motifs; I love playing with colors & seeing how they work magic with a motif.

The bracelet is hand-woven, 2 small beads at a time, using a technique called 2-drop peyote stitch, a technique that gives the piece a lovely drape, almost like fabric. It measures 1" (2.5cm) wide & approximately 7.25" (18.4cm) long, including the silver-tone tube clasp.
