Vintage 6.75 x 8 in. US single-weight glossy inscribed photograph pertaining to the classic 1920's silent film action/adventure romance, THE THREE MUSKETEERS, released in 1921 by United Artists and directed by Allan Dwan. The young Gascon D'Artagnan (Douglas Fairbanks) arrives in Paris, his heart set on joining the king's Musketeers. He is taken under the wings of three of the most respected and feared Musketeers, Porthos, Aramis, and Athos. Together, they fight to save France and the honor of a lady from the machinations of the powerful Cardinal Richelieu (Nigel De Brulier).

This vintage photograph is of a reproduction from a book and depicts a scene of Queen Anne (Mary MacLaren) requesting the services of her loyal Musketeer, D'Artagnan (Douglas Fairbanks). This photograph was inscribed by Mary MacLaren in blue ballpoint pen to motion picture historian, author, and collector, Robert S. Birchard, thusly: "To Bob - from the "Queen" Mary MacLaren - Aug 30/68." It is in fine condition with a light 2 in. diagonal crease on the bottom left corner; a 1 in. diagonal crease beneath the top left corner; and two small creases in the right half of the bottom edge.
