Vintage original US 30x40 US poster from the popular 1980's action/crime thriller, SUDDEN IMPACT, released in 1983 by Warner Bros. and directed by Clint Eastwood. A rape victim (Sondra Locke) is exacting revenge on her aggressors in a small town outside San Francisco. "Dirty" Harry Callahan (Clint Eastwood), on suspension for angering his superiors (again), is assigned to the case. The cast includes Pat Hingle, Bradford Dillman, Paul Drake, Audrie Neenan, and Jack Thibeau.

The image features a close shot of "Dirty" Harry Callahan (Clint Eastwood) with the skyline of San Francisco behind him as seen through a bullet-shattered window. Unrestored and rolled as originally issued, this vintage original 30x40 poster (which measures 30x40 inches) is in very fine condition with random signs of light wear on on portions of the edges. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws and the rich color tints are fresh and vibrant without any signs of fading.

Provenance: The Collection of David Frangioni, collector and author of the film poster book from Palace Press International entitled "Clint Eastwood: ICON". 30x40 posters are more rare than the standard one-sheet counterparts, as far fewer of them were printed. In addition, they are less tolerance to handling, and the example offered here is in very fine unrestored condition.

Sudden Impact was the only "Dirty Harry" movie directed by Clint Eastwood and became the highest-grossing of the Dirty Harry film franchise. Charles B. Pierce wrote the line, "Go ahead, make my day," which was inspired by a warning that his father would say to Pierce when he was a child. According to Pierce, his father warned him, "When I come home tonight and the yard has not been mowed, you're gonna make my day." "Go ahead, make my day" was voted as the number six movie quote by the American Film Institute (out of one hundred).
