Chris Hemsworth revisits his role as the son of Odin and the champion of Asgard in 'Thor: The Dark World' by Marvel Studios. In this movie, the eighth in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, an event known as the Convergence is about to align all of the Nine Realms. This provides an opportunity for an ancient enemy, the Dark Elf Malekith, to return from his slumber. Having previously been defeated by the Asgardians, he now seeks to launch an attack against the realms using the power of the Aether. The DVD version of the movie, released in 2014, contains an exclusive look at 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier,' and also features deleted scenes from the film.
