Description

Offered here is this beautiful Pre-Civil War Early American Solid Maple Washstand.  The washstand is in excellent condition, with only some minor wear on it, and only a few light surface scratches from general use.  The drawer has English dovetail joinery.  The washstand is made of solid maple and is constructed in the classic Early American style with simple lines and functionality.  It also has visible dovetail joints at the back of the stand.  The stand has turned legs, and a three-sided top.  The stand’s legs are beginning to separate from the base just slightly.  The stand is in extraordinarily good condition, particularly considering it is 200 years old.  It stands 33” tall at the sides, 28.75” tall at the front, 16.25” wide, with an inside width across the top of 15.25” wide, 16” deep, with the knob adding another 1” to the depth.  This is an amazing find, dating to the 1820s.  It is a must have for any Early American collection.
