Vintage Fisher Price #990 A-Frame Play Set Complete/ EXC++-NEAR MINT (More photos below)

Here for your consideration is a WONDERFUL FIND---a Fisher Price Little People #990 A-Frame Play Set!!! Manufactured between 1974-76, this play set is 100% Complete and in EXC++-NEAR MINT condition. It also features four Wood/Plastic LITTLE PEOPLE.

This base has led a "charmed life." After repeated scrutiny, the only "flaws" I can ascertain are:

1. Five, pin-head size "dings" on the porch next to the bell; these are hard to spot; they DEFINITELY do not detract from the overall appearance or functioning of this piece;

2. Some mild rubbing on the plastic door adjacent to the bell; this is common with these sets;

3. Some EXTREMELY minor edge wear on the right hand side of the main Fisher Price logo along with a couple of bubbles on the same litho;

4. Approximately 20 bubbles at the end of the driveway next to the hinges; most of these are minor in nature (e.g. from 1/8" L x 1/8" W to 1/4"L x 1/4" W; the largest are located over the flower beds on the right hand side of the driveway (e.g. @2" L x 1/4" W); indeed, I didn't really notice these bubbles until I held the driveway up within 3" of my eyes and rotated it in the light;

5. One small, soiled spot about 1 1/4" from the end of the litho (closest to the hinges); this may come off during the cleaning process;

6. Some minor edge wear on the right- hand side of the braided rug;

7. Two small abrasions near the top left- hand side of the roof on the back of the A-Frame; I basically found these through touch. They don't jump out at you or negatively impact the overall appearance or functioning of the piece;

8. One, pin-head size indentation located near the middle of the left-hand side of the rear roof;

9. Two, faint, extended light scratches on the rear roof; these are barely perceptible; I believe they will become virtually invisible once I thoroughly Q-tip clean this base, apply a coating of Armor All, and buff the surface.

That's it!!!!! I'm being extremely "nit-picky" here. I don't want anyone to be disappointed by their purchase from me. 

All of the plastic hinges are intact, the sliding doors operate as designed, and the bell rings merrily to welcome its occupants. The aqua coloration is uniform throughout (e.g. no darkening with age) and there are no chips, marks, cracks, repairs, or stains of any kind on any of the plastic surfaces.

The INTERIOR and EXTERIOR lithos are 100% intact. I've gone over the INTERIOR lithos with a "fine tooth comb." Other than the "flaws" mentioned above, they are clean, firmly attached to their underlying plastic surfaces, and free of any rubs, marks, tears, creases, or stains.

Besides this STUNNING Fisher Price Little People play base, the set includes the following accessories:

1 HTF 4 rung white ladder (EXC--several barely visible "nibbles" and some scuffs on both ends of the ladder);

 1 RARE, red/white, 4 seater jeep with Fisher Price written on its wheels (EXC+++-NEAR MINT--one tiny scuff on the upper right-hand edge of the windshield; some dulling and a tad amount of rust on the right front wheel cap; I anticipate this will come off once I apply some Naval Jelly);

1 HTF 3 legged yellow grill w/litho (EXC++--a few light surface scratches);

4 RARE, yellow stacking bunk beds with remnants of their original foam(VG+-VG++---Due to dry rot, I will be replacing the original foam with hard foam inserts (not shown); I will not be gluing these "mattresses" into place so if you don't wish to keep them, you'll be able to easily remove them; all of the beds still have their original "pegs" so they latch together easily and firmly); with the foam replacements, these bunk beds will easily warrant an EXC+++-NEAR MINT rating;

1 VHTF white picnic table with litho (VG+-VG++--three out of the four litho corners are missing; there is also some mild edge wear on one side of the litho; if the buyer wishes, I have a high-quality, replacement litho available for the picnic table; I obtain these replacement lithos from a highly skilled professional in Canada who has been making these for well over 5 years; she utilizes a professional copier that is calibrated to replicate her collection of unused original Fisher Price lithos that she obtained from a former FP employee; the reproduction lithos are printed on heavy-duty sticky back paper and are water proof; I provide these replacement lithos as a service to my customers; I leave it up to the buyer to apply these in place because I don't want people to think I'm selling "doctored" sets; I provide the buyer with step-by-step instructions on how to remove the original litho and how to apply the replacement litho);

2 HTF white picnic benches (1 MINT; the other is in VG+ condition with some scuffs and scratches);

2 HTF yellow chaise lounge chairs (1 MINT; the other is in EXC+ condition; the latter exhibits one pin-head size indentation on the tip of the right hand arm of the lounge chair); and

2 HTF yellow captain's chairs with triangles on the back (EXC+++).

This particular offering also includes 4 WOOD/plastic Little People and 1 ALL PLASTIC LUCKY :

1 VHTF, tall, blue bodied Mom with blonde hair (NEAR MINT--teensy amount of paint loss on back middle rim of the piece; rest of the figure is MINTY MINT);

1 RARE, short red bodied girl with blonde bob and bangs (MINTY MINT);

1 VHTF, tall, green bodied Dad with black heat stamped hair (MINTY MINT);

1 RARE, short, yellow bodied boy with red cap facing forward, frowning face, and freckles (EXC-EXC++--exhibits light rub to center of mouth and one freckle; in addition, the cap's brim shows some shallow "nibbles" and slight roughness on the very front edge of the brim); and

1 ALL PLASTIC Lucky with a red collar (MINTY MINT).

The A-Frame and all of its accessories will be thoroughly Q-tip cleaned prior to sending it to its new owners. I spend a MINIMUM of 1 1/2 -5 hours cleaning each and every VINTAGE Fisher Price Little People play set I sell (except for those clearly marked in MY ROUGH ROOM). I utilize a variety of cleaning products---Dawn dishwashing soap with anti-bacterial ingredients, Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser, Goo-Gone, Crayon-Away, Chlorox Bleach pen, Soft Scrub, Comet, Windex, Naval Jelly, Armor All wipes etc. along with a child's toothbrush, toothpicks, and Q-tips to give these sets a detailed cleaning. My sets are IMMACULATE! All you have to do is unpack and enjoy them.

This would make an AWESOME gift for any avid Fisher Price COLLECTOR! It would also make a WONDERFUL gift for some lucky child.

NOTE: This playset is not a part of the recent recall of Fisher Price toys manufactured in China. This set was produced in the good, ole' U.S.A. in 1974. It's hard to imagine this set is 39 years young! They sure don't make toys the way they used to!

Due to some small parts, children under 3 years of age or those still mouthing their toys should not be given these toys to play with unsupervised. Adult supervision is highly recommended.

FYI, another benefit of using either Fed Ex or UPS is that their quote includes up to $100 worth of FREE insurance. Additional amounts of insurance may be purchased for a nominal fee (that is much less than the USPS). Fed Ex also provides automated tracking updates re: your parcel’s whereabouts directly to your personal e-mail account. In order to ship Fed Ex (or UPS for that matter), I MUST have a residential or work place address, NOT a P.O. Box number, as well as a home or cell phone. Otherwise, they will not accept the shipping paperwork or transport your item.
