Offered here is this wonderful antique bow back side chair. I am unsure of it's exact age, however, I am sure that it is quite old, possibly dating to the late 19th century. It has a woven Rattan seat, and it is finished in a dark walnut. I am unsure of the exact type of wood that it is made from. The spindles on the back are all in very good condition, and seem to be holding very firmly within the frame. The spreaders on the bottom however have some loosening at some of the joints and will most likely need to be reglued. The woven seat is broken at the front as can be seen in the photographs. It will most likely need to be rewoven, however, the wooden seat is intact and sturdy. This could also be remedied was something as simple as a cushion at least for the time being. The chair has lovely machine turned legs on it and the spindles at the back also look machine turned. The chair has a lot of light dings and scratches to the finish, but is otherwise in fairly sturdy condition. The chair is 36.75" tall at the back, 16" wide across the seat, 15.25" deep from the seat back to the front of the seat with a total depth including the seat-back of 19.5", the leg span with is 20" and the seat sits at 17.75" high. This is a very nice antique bow back side chair with great style and classic design. It is a must-have for any antique chair collection.
