Blue bamboo 
?Bambusa textilis, the blue bamboo is the largest relatively hardy bamboo without propagation urge. In cold areas, it must be protected against heavy frosts - or can be kept as a container plant. The stems are colored blue during the growing period. Bambusa textilis loves sun or medium shade. The blue bamboo makes a splendid screen. Hardiness, up to - 11C without protection maximum height, approx. 10 meters maximum straw diameter, approx. 5 cm The pictures were kindly provided by Quindembo Bamboo.
?Sprinkle bamboo seeds for 24h in lukewarm water (about 30 C).

Spread some seeds on the peat pot and cover thinly with the Jiffy substrate (about 2 mm).

Then put the plastic pot in a zip-lock bag - with a pot size of 6 cm we recommend a ziplock bag of size 120 x 170 mm. Put enough tap water in the zip-lock bag with a few drops of universal fertilizer so that a few millimeters of water remain after the substrate has been absorbed. Then close the zip-lock bag

Location: on the windowsill or in a miniature greenhouse partially shaded, during the day the temperatures should be around 27 - 32 C, at night a bit lower at 25 - 28 C. 

The germination time for bamboo seeds is between 10 and 40 days, depending on the variety.
