Description
Offered here is this Nice Antique Johnson Bros China Dessert, or Bread Plate in the Old Britain Castles Pattern. The plate looks very old and has some discoloration underglaze on the front at the bottom of the center scene. This pattern was made from 1930 to 2003, when it was discontinued. This plate is most likely from the early days of manufacture. There is also a superficial crack on the back side that is about 1.5" long and goes all the way through, although it is not readily visible on the front. The plate has some glaze chips along the outer edge on front as well. I am unsure of the exact age of the plate but I know that it is quite old. It is a 6.5" plate and was either a bread plate or a dessert plate. It is a very nice blue on white transfer-ware plate that would make a nice addition to any antique plate collection and would be a great Decor piece.
