Vintage original 27x41 in. US one-sheet poster from the classic 1970's comedy/drama romance, THE LORDS OF FLATBUSH, released in 1974 by Columbia Pictures and co-directed by Martin Davidson and Stephen Verona. Set in Brooklyn in the 1950's, a group of kids form a gang and, from this
moment on, they do everything together. This makes things easier but, at the same
time, they have to face new problems. The cast includes Susan Blakely, Renee Paris, Maria Smith, Paul Mace, Henry Winkler, Sylvester Stallone, and Perry King.
Unrestored and folded as originally issued, this vintage original one-sheet is in fine+ condition with small random surface creases; a 3 in. horizontal crease in the top left corner in the borders only; and light signs of wear on the bottom corners. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws. The poster boasts a really great tagline at the top: "When was the last time someone gave you a hickey?"
Henry Winkler stated that when he was creating the
character of the Fonz in Happy Days (1974),
he based his performance on Sylvester Stallone's portrayal of Stanley. Richard Gere was originally cast as Chico. According
to Sylvester Stallone, he and Gere fought constantly, including physically,
and he demanded Gere to be fired. When Stallone was
making Rocky (1976), the
producers showed the studio this film so they could see who Stallone was. The
studio mistook Perry King for Stallone and was excited about him
playing Rocky. When the producers pointed out that the guy playing Stanley was
really Stallone, the studio's excitement faded.
