Two (2) sets of piston rings for two pistons for Kohler engines – replaces oem part number 24 108 14-S, 2410814S, 24-108-14-S. These are for standard 725cc & 747cc 83mm bore engine 1.50mm top ring thickness, style A.

Improved style two piece oil control ring included for longer life and reduced oil consumption. The oem oil control rings in these Kohler engines are notorious for premature failure. They lose tension, the rails stick to the expander and have poor bore-conforming characteristics - as a result oil consumption is increased and combustion chamber & exhaust valve deposits build up resulting in poor performance. The oem oil rings are low cost budget three-piece design. The better type two piece oil rings are used in high stress applications such as diesels and air-cooled applications where high heat and severe operating conditions require a long life superior oil control ring. (GM, International, Cummins, Caterpillar, Volvo & Detroit Diesel have used two-piece oil rings in their Diesels, and BMW in its motorcycles, for many years to improve high mileage durability). They are more expensive to manufacture than 3 piece rings but are far superior. A two piece oil control ring gets its tension from a spiral spring instead of manufactured tension. The spring is a cylindrical coil spring made from heat resistant spring steel, and it acts uniformly around the entire ring circumference. The radial pressure distribution is always symmetrical on two-part oil control rings, because the contact pressure is even over the entire circumference of the spiral spring. This design increases the ability of the ring to conform the cylinder wall variations and reduces ring groove sticking tendencies. This design has been shown to last longer and to significantly reduce oil consumption due to better bore-conforming characteristics. The two-piece oil ring is an excellent design but somewhat more expensive to manufacture than the three-piece design hence it’s used primarily for diesel and other engines where the ability exists to spend more money on the ring pack allowing the engine to last longer. Now you can put these superior oil rings in your Kohler.

These are excellent quality piston rings. These rings are manufactured by the most highly regarded European piston ring manufacturer. They are not made in China, Taiwan, Vietnam or Mexico.

Please measure you pistons ring thickness before ordering. If your rings measure 1.2mm these piston rings will not work.
