Kimberly Queen Fern – 10 Plants

Can Grow in Both Sun & Shade

Botanically, Kimberly Queen is known as Nephrolepis obliterata. It comes from Australia and is known as the Australian sword fern. This has to be one of the most beautiful ferns. Its large fronds are held high and erect and keep their integrity even in wind and rain.

The Kimberly Queen tolerates more sun than does the Boston and can put on an enormous amount of growth in a year. They also tolerate indoor conditions well for those who want to overwinter them. Many gardeners don't realize that if planted in the ground, the Kimberly Queen has quite a bit of cold tolerance that allows her to return from ground level after many winters. Mulching, of course, is mandatory.

My ferns are field grown and healthy.   They will be dug and shipped the same day to protect them as much as possible.  I ship the plants bare root and packaged to retain their moisture.

My offer is for 10 clumps – each clump will be approximately the size of a nice full quart plant if purchased locally.  I often include extras at no charge depending upon if I must dig more than what you purchase to process your order.

These ferns are hardy in zones 7 – 11, but will go dormant in zones 7 & 8 unless moved inside.  They make easy care house plants in any zone.  If you plant them outside, they will fill in an area (I have them under my live oaks) in a year or two, but are very easy to control and do not become invasive.  They will grow to 48” high in the right location, but a more normal size is 24” to 30”.

Your plants are guaranteed to arrive safely and alive.  If you have any issue, please advise within 24 hours of receipt along with a picture of the plant in question and we will work through any problem.

Sorry - no shipments to Arizona due to import restrictions.
