Guatapanal is a plant that grows mostly in tropical climates that are common in the region of Caribe and Latin America, the Guatapanal tree produces fruits that are black or brown in color and that more than a fruit look like leaves of the plant.
The scientific name of Guatapanal " Cresalpina coriaria ", this tree is common in the Dominican Republic, although it is native to Mexico, Latin Americans have benefited greatly from the healing properties of this plant in medicine. For sore throats there is no other natural remedy than boiling the fruits of the guatapanal and making gargles.
Medicinal Uses: Fruit (dried seed pod): decoction, gargle or mouthwash, for sore throat, tonsillitis, toothache, oral inflammation or infection; decoction, douche, for vaginal infection, inflammation of the ovaries, venereal disease, menstrual disorders, pelvic pain and cleansing the reproductive system; decoction, orally, fever, inflammation and infection.

The remedy is easy enough, to begin we must put in a container with water some fruits of guatapanal, we put to boil for a few minutes, when this ready we let it cool and ready. The tea obtained will be used to make a few gargles.
