This necklace is truly one of a kind! It is made of ancient carnelian beads of various graduated shapes and sizes. The largest bead measures approximately 3/4" (1.9 cm) long. The beads date from the 1st century BC to the 3rd century AD and are from the Palmyran civilization which encompassed much of modern-day Syria. Wouldn't you love to know the history of the original owner of this necklace? What I love about these beads is the way they feel -- so smooth to the touch! These beads were from a single necklace, & have been restrung. The necklace measures approximately 17.5" (44.5 cm) long and is finished with modern sterling silver beads and toggle clasp.
