This is a very unusual chunky knot choker steam punk style necklace. I'm not sure of the metal, but it looks to be pewter or gun metal. A magnet does not attract the main part of the necklace, but it does attract the chain link sections. The necklace does not open out so the measurements had to be taken separately. The twisted knot design in the center is 2 inches long. If you measure the diameter or distance across at the first joint or hinge it is 4 ½ inches across. Hanging from the knot is a round filigree watch style pendant that measures 1 ½ inches in diameter, not including the watch winder attached on the bottom. On one side of the knot, including the chain it goes up 8 ½ inches on the other side 6 ½ inches. The chain is adjustable in length because of the fish hook or shepherd hook design and the longer chain on one side. It is difficult to measure the length, but I would estimate it at around 17 inches.
It is in excellent condition with a darkened antiqued silver patina, which adds to the fantastic steampunk appearance. I have no idea of the exact age, but it is probably from the early 1990s.
This is an unique art jewelry necklace that will be a real conversation starter. It would be perfect with that little black dress or with your favorite casual wear.
