This cute little vintage ceramic garlic keeper will add a bit of whimsy to your kitchen while storing your garlic. Its anthropomorphic face is forever posed in a tearful grimace, unhappy with the pungent scent of the garlic he can smell with his human-like nose. The front of his lid says 'GARLIC'. The back of his lid says 'HANDLE', while the back side of the base says 'WITH CARE'. It is a nicely detailed piece, from the soft curves of the garlic bulb, to its trimmed scape. The majority of this kitchen ceramic's tones are shades of brown, including the inside of the piece, while the eyes and tears are painted a vivid blue. Measuring approximately 5 inches tall by 3 3/4 inches across at the garlic keeper's widest point, this piece is in wonderful vintage condition. At first glance, it appears as if there is a crack in the lid, but in actuality there is an imperfection beneath the glaze. It cannot be felt and it does not go all the way through the ceramic, as it cannot be seen from the underside of the lid. It is marked on the bottom JAPAN beneath a three leaf clover.
