The Chaga mushroom is a black parasitic fungus that commonly grows in northern regions on birch trees. It has long been used as a folk medicine in several East European countries including Russia, where it is referred to as Chaga. It has been used for centuries for good health, immunity, metabolism, AIDS, diabetes, and blood pressure. More recent pharmacological studies using Chaga have shown great effect on the treatment of diseases, influenza viruses, stomach diseases, intestinal worms, liver ailments and cancers.

Our Chaga is found growing in the Northern Michigan Forests. It is sun dried and broken into chunks. You can grind it down into a powder using a mortar, or just steep the chunks, 1pound of Chaga will make 192 cups of tea.
