Do you like to ski?  Here for your consideration is an iconic treasure often associated with ski resorts---a Fisher Price Play Family #990 A-Frame play set!!! Manufactured between 1974-76, this play set is 100% complete and in NEAR MINT condition. (NOTE:  I failed to insert the white ladder in my photos.  You will be receiving this ladder).  The A-Frame also features four Wood/Plastic LITTLE PEOPLE.  I have configured this set according to the 1975 Fisher Price specs (e.g. according to www.thisoldtoy.com).

 

This base has definitely been cherished.  After repeated scrutiny, the only "flaws" I can ascertain are:

 

1.  Approximately two, pin-head size spots and one, 1/4" L x 1/16" W scratch on the main Fisher Price litho on the front side of the A-Frame; 

 

2.  Some dulling of the bell consistent with age;

 

3.  Bell slightly skewed to the left;  I've tried to reposition this bell but it appears to be stuck at this angle for good;

 

4.  Some light soiling on all the plastic surfaces along with two, pin-head size black marks; one of these marks is on the front, bottom edge of the fold down flap and the other is on the side of the deck on the bell side of the A-frame; I believe I will be able to remove this soiling and black marks during the cleaning process; and

 

5.  One, pin-head size spot on the fold down driveway.

 

That's it!!!!! I'm being extremely "nit-picky" here. All of the plastic hinges are intact, the sliding doors operate as designed, and the bell rings merrily to welcome its occupants. The aqua coloration is uniform throughout (e.g. no darkening with age) and there are no chips, marks, cracks, repairs, or stains of any kind on any of the plastic surfaces.  This is a heirloom quality base.

 

 

Besides this STUNNING Fisher Price play base, the set includes the following accessories:

 

1 HTF 4 rung white ladder (EXC--faint surface scratches and a few "nibbles" on the ends of the ladder);

 

1 RARE, white/red, 4 seater jeep with Fisher Price written on its wheels (NEAR MINT--two, tiny scratches on the front hood; to see these, you have to hold the jeep up within 3" of your eyes and rotate it in the light; these scratches definitely do not detract from the overall appearance or functioning of the piece);


1 RARE 3 legged red grill w/litho (MINTY MINT);

 

4 RARE, yellow stacking bunk beds with traces of their original foam(VG+--Due to dry rot, I will be replacing the original foam with hard foam inserts (see photos); I will not be gluing these "mattresses" into place so if you don't wish to keep them, you'll be able to easily remove them; all of the beds still have their original "pegs" so they latch together easily and firmly); with the foam replacements in place, these bunk beds will garner an EXC+++-NEAR MINT rating);

 

1 VHTF white picnic table with litho (MINT);

 

2 HTF white picnic benches (one MINT; other VG++--numerous surface scratches);

 

2 HTF yellow chaise lounge chairs (MINT---NOTE:  I discovered some blemishes on the lounge chairs after I photographed them; I have replaced both of them with some new chairs in MINT condition; you will be receiving the latter chairs); and

 

2 HTF yellow captain's chairs with triangles on the back (MINT).

 

This particular offering also includes 4 WOOD/plastic Little People and 1 ALL PLASTIC LUCKY :

 


1 VHTF, ALL WOOD,  tall, blue bodied Mom with blonde hair (NEAR MINT--extremely light paint loss around middle of piece consistent with age);

 

1 RARE, WOOD/plastic, short, aqua bodied girl with red bob and bangs (MINTY MINT);

 

1 VHTF, ALL WOOD, tall, green bodied Dad with "belt", brown heat stamped hair, and metal rivet (NEAR MINT---small amount of paint loss on the side, near the bottom edge of the figure);

 

1 VHTF, WOOD/plastic, short, orange bodied boy with red heat stamped hair (MINTY MINT); and

 

1 ALL PLASTIC Lucky with a yellow link collar (NEAR MINT--minor edge wear on the bottom of the piece).

 

The A-Frame and all of its accessories will be thoroughly Q-tip cleaned prior to sending it to its new owners. I spend a MINIMUM of 1 1/2 -6 hours cleaning each and every VINTAGE Fisher Price Little People play set I sell (except for those clearly marked in MY ROUGH ROOM). I utilize a variety of cleaning products---Dawn dish washing soap with anti-bacterial ingredients, Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser, Goo-Gone, Crayon-Away, Chlorox Bleach pen, Soft Scrub, Comet, Windex, Naval Jelly, Armor All wipes etc. along with a child's toothbrush, toothpicks, and Q-tips to give these sets a detailed cleaning. My sets are IMMACULATE! All you have to do is unpack and enjoy them.

 

This would make an AWESOME gift for any avid Fisher Price COLLECTOR! It would also make a WONDERFUL gift for some lucky child.

 

NOTE: This play set is not a part of the recent recall of Fisher Price toys manufactured in China. This set was produced in the good, ole' U.S.A. in 1975. It's hard to imagine this set is 42 years young! They sure don't make toys the way they used to!

 

Due to some small parts, children under 3 years of age or those still mouthing their toys should not be given these toys to play with unsupervised. Adult supervision is highly recommended.

 

This particular play set weighs @ 3 lbs. UNWRAPPED. My location is Lafayette, IN (47905).

I primarily utilize Fed Ex Home Delivery for items exceeding 5 lbs. in weight, measuring greater than 12 inches in any dimension, or traveling longer distances. I’ve been finding Fed Ex has been running @33% cheaper than the USPS and UPS Ground. FYI, another benefit of using either Fed Ex or UPS is that their quote includes up to $100 worth of FREE insurance. Additional amounts of insurance may be purchased for a nominal fee (that is much less than the USPS). Fed Ex also provides automated tracking updates re: your parcel’s whereabouts directly to your personal e-mail account.
 


In order to ship Fed Ex (or UPS for that matter), I MUST have a residential or work place address, NOT a P.O. Box number, as well as a home or cell phone. Otherwise, they will not accept the shipping paperwork or transport your item.




Packages traveling to Alaska or Hawaii will be shipped Parcel Post via the USPS. Insurance and delivery confirmation are required.



I’m more than willing to combine multiple purchases into one box whenever it is safe to do so to decrease your shipping costs. PLEASE combine your purchases on ONE INVOICE before you check out. If you pay for these items separately, I get charged multiple transaction fees by PayPal plus you get over-charged on your shipping.
