Delicious. No garden is complete without Beets. Ruby Queen is a wonderful heirloom variety with good old-fashioned taste. 

50 days. Ruby Queen A time-tested favorite that will please the most critical gardener. Globe-shaped roots are smooth and uniform, deep red with no white rings or zones, very tender and sweet. Superb for pickling, bunching or canning. 1957 AAS Winner. The  greens are as delicious as chard or spinach, and very nutritious; just one cup has more iron than a hamburger patty! Beet seed is actually a dried fruit with 1-5 seeds in each fruit, so proper thinning is very important..

Seeds can be sown directly into garden when soil is warm or started in containers and transplanted when several inches tall.
