Vintage original 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy candid photograph taken during the production of the 1960's comedy, SAIL A CROOKED SHIP, released in 1961 by Columbia Pictures and directed by Irving BrecherA bungling burglar, determined to go down in the annals of crime as a genius, steals a ship in New York in order to rob a bank in Boston. He steals a mothballed Liberty ship, assembles a nitwit band of meatballs and sets sail on his crazy cruise for crime. To "drive" the ship, they shanghai an inept ex-Navy officer who somehow manages to bring them through a hurricane, a fire, and a mutiny.

The image features an interior medium shot of Bugsy G. Fogelmeyer, AKA The Captain (Ernie Kovacs), inside of a post office as he leans on the counter to study the faces of the men on the various "Wanted" posters that we posted on the bulletin board, as he is looking for potential gang members. Affixed to the verso is the original paper snipe caption that describing the scene and the film. Printed on single-weight stock with a glossy finish, this vintage original photograph is in very fine condition with only light wear on the corners. The image quality is razor-sharp with fine detail and great contrast.
