Item description for Vintage Wood Ducks Kel Pin Sterling Lapel Koelpin Bark River Woodies

This is a wonderful tiny lapel pin of two intricately detailed flying Wood Ducks. Included with the pin is a little “Thank You Card” for purchasing the Kel-Pin, it reads; “The pin is made from the original artwork of William J. Koelpin. Note the accuracy and realism…all the detail of the original artwork. “The pin is marked on the back “Kel-Pin Sterling”. I have added a picture of the artwork the pin is based upon in one of the photos. It measures approximately 1 ¼ inches from wing tip to wing tip and is about ¾ of an inch wide.

This pin is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. There is no loss of finish and the silver has a lovely patina. The pin is marked Sterling on the back, but it looks more like pewter to me. It has not been tested for silver content. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.

This would be the perfect addition to anyone’s collection of figural jewelry. It is ideal for a man or a woman and will look great on a jacket lapel, hat, or vest. It is equally attractive when placed on the mat of the framed Koelpin print. William J. Koelpin was born in 1938 and lived until 1996.
