Stirling Castle, Scotland Crystal Flask ~Liquor Bottle

"Stirling Castle, located in Stirling, is one of the largest and most important castles in Scotland, both historically and architecturally.  The Royal Palace at Stirling Castle 1540-42, is the finest Renaissance building in Scotland. A three-storey building with an ornate facade of tall windows and niches which contain a selection of grotesque carved figures and Renaissance sculptures. Over the Centuries, the Palace Block was stripped for military use and the Royal Chambers converted to mess rooms and officers' quarters. Stirling Castle is widely regarded as having the finest examples of architecture from that period in Europe. The Royal Palace allows visitors to step into the astonishing richness of royal life in the 1500s, presenting the King’s and Queen’s Lodgings as they might have appeared in the mid 16th century."

This flask was most likely purchased at the bookstore at Sterling Castle or in one of the nearby shops in Stirling. A beautiful souvenir and memento for anyone with an interest ion Scotland or in the history of the 16th Century.

It is lead crystal and etched; stands 5 3/4 inch tall and is 2 inches square. Pre-owned but has not been used. Makes a beautiful Scotch Liqueur decanter for your bar or for display.
