This climate control has the "MAX" button with independent rear vents (18-pin black plug) - check to see if yours does for compatibility. If you need one with a "REST" button (instead of "MAX"), please check our store. Installation is very EASY, so why not replace your broken unit today? This part displays degrees Fahrenheit. You are responsible to do your research on compatibility. Please be advised when looking for a replacement X5 climate control unit that the Black connector is specific to the X5 with 18 pins for rear ventilation. E39 5-Series units only have 12 pins.
