SHIPS FREE-The lovely Hummel Plate shown for your consideration will come in its original box. The plate was made in 1976 and has the year on it. It plate is called Apple Tree Girl and is their 6th plate of the annual series. It has a Goebel mark of the stylized bee with a V above and toward the right end of Goebel/W Germany. This tells that it was made from 1972-1979. What a great addition to your collection or start your collection today.
A little story of how this all came about. In 1934, Franz Goebel was searching for something new. He saw the art work that was done by a Franciscan Sister named Maria Innocentia Hummel. He adored the way she portrayed the gentle innocence of children and new with the world in political turmoil that there would be a good market for her work. So in March of 1935 he launched his new market line at the Leipzig Spring Fair. What a wonderful success it has been all through the years.
CONDITION: This very nice plate is in excellent condition with its original box which has light wear due to storage.
